DELIVERY INFORMATION AND FAQ'S

What are the delivery charges?

  • There is free delivery within 3 - 4 working days to the following postcodes that we are able to deliver to directly: SO14, SO15, SO16, SO17, SO18, SO19, SO40, SO41, SO42, SO43, SO45, SO50, SO51, SO52, SO53

  • Otherwise, there is a standard £7.00 delivery charge for delivery to the rest of the UK (excluding the Highlands and islands, see below for restrictions), when you checkout.  We use a next day courier service (DHL) and will post out with them on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Cheese will not be dispatched on a Thursday or Friday because our courier service doesn’t include weekend delivery. We do not want your cheese sitting in a warehouse all weekend long.

  • We suggest sending your cheese to a work address if you feel delivery is difficult or the consignment can’t be left safely (ideal for flats or in larger city deliveries). Please provide as much information as possible if you live remotely or if your address is hard to find.  You can do this in the specific box on the order page.

  • Delivery restrictions apply to the following areas: AB31 – AB38, AB40 – AB56, IV1 – IV28, IV30 – IV36, IV41 – IV49, IV51 – IV56, IV63, KW1 – KW17, PA20 – PA38, PA41 – PA49, PA60 – PA78, PH4 – PH44, PH49 – PH50, BT, ZE, Isle of Wight, Isle of Man, Channel Islands

How do I store my cheese?

If your box is delivered by courier it includes paper insulation and an ice pack (that is as sustainable as we could find!) that will keep your cheese fresh for 48 hours. Once you open the box, the cheese needs to be stored in an air-tight box at the bottom of your fridge (this stops your cheese from drying out and becoming tainted by other fridge smells!). Wrap the cut face of the cheese as closely as possible, to stop mould developing. If mould does start to develop, however, remember that cheese and mould are ‘best friends’ so you can simply trim or scrape it off.

We recommend that you serve your cheese at room temperature. This allows the full flavours to come to the fore.  You won’t get the full effect from cold cheese.

How long can I keep my cheese for?

We recommend 1 week for soft cheeses and 2 weeks for hard cheeses (if they are stored as we have said). Obviously, we would expect you to open the box, crack open a bottle of red and devour straight away!

Can I send a box to a different address to the billing address?

Yes, of course. When you add your billing address, there is the option to add a different delivery address. If it is a gift, we can add a gift card with a personal note from you, just add your message in the “Add a note” box on the checkout page.

Can I place an order for a later date?

Yes. Again, tell us when you would like it delivered in the “Add a note” box at the checkout. We will email you if there is going to be a problem.

What will happen if I’m not home to receive my order?

When you place your order you’ll be given the option to inform us of any specific delivery information (i.e. safe place) for our courier to leave your package if you’re not at home when they arrive. This is a great way to ensure that you don’t miss the delivery. You can also request for the order to be left with a neighbour.

Is an invoice included with my order?

We do not include a paper invoice or receipt with any deliveries, (remember, we care about the environment and don’t want to use paper unnecessarily) so you can rest assured that no cheese gifts will have price information with them when they arrive with their recipient. A receipt is automatically emailed to you when you place an order through the website.

Will my cheese be ruined if I miss the delivery and it has to be delivered the following day?

Whilst we aim to have all orders delivered within 24 hours of leaving our premises. Our ice packs and insulation will be able to keep your cheese in good condition for 48 hours under most circumstances.

What should I do with the packaging?

We aim to use no plastic in our business.  The boxes, wrap and insulation are all kerb side recyclable.  The ice packs are recyclable (dependent on local guidelines) but we suggest you just reuse them as they of excellent quality
